When is your surgery, Sue?

Please catch me up, when do you get the new joint, Sue? I seem to recall it is coming about August 1 or whereabouts.

I had an endoscopy today, and I'm in the fast lane for surgery as well. The fast lane means they want want to have it done asap, but this is vacation time for docs, so we will see... I do have Barrett's Esophagus as well as the hiatal hernia, and will have a procedure that will include what is called a Nissen Fundoplication. My surgeon will be the doctor who did my double bowel obstruction, I'm pleased with that. She's got a bigtime reputation I'm learning.

I sleep, wake up, sleep, repeat, and I seem to forget each segment of time. B

Sue , I wish you the best , on the hip thing .Wasn't it Farah Fawcett , who played the Bionic Woman ? I hope you are pain free afterwards , Its hard to stay active , when movement causes such pain . Is this a situation , where you get to pick what size you want ?

Bruce.....good luck on this surgery. I had to look it up too because I never heard of it. It sounds like it should give you complete relief. Barrett's is nothing to fool around with. Having trust in your doctor is soo important, so I am glad you have the same one. You will feel a lot better, I'm sure.
Jim.....I think it was Lindsay Wagner who was the bionic woman. She is now doing infomercials on the "sleep number bed". I am a basket case right now, to the point of feeling like I am going to puke if I dwell on it. I can be own worst enemy. I had my pre-op physical and found out I am very anemic ( what do they expect when they take 2 units from me to keep on hold for the surgery), and, unknown to me, I have a bladder infection....that makes me nervous, because I will have to have a catheter in for a few days, and that is never a good idea with an active infection. Anyway, my regular doctor is pumping me up with antibiotics, so, hopefully, it will be knocked out by Monday, the day of my surgery. Anyway, I will try to stay positive. BTW....my hip doctor thinks much of my back pain could have been from my hip problems. Time will tell. That was why I saw that other doctor in the first place...I complained about my hip....he said no, it was my back. I expect to be dancing by the end of August.....I am determined. LOL.
