I'm Back

After getting my retina re-attached and recuperating for three weeks on my stomach 20 hours a day and being restricted from using my computer or any other reading till today. I am happy to announce the I have recouped a good portion of my vision in that eye. The odds were 50% that I would recuperate any vision at all. So the doctor said that when everything is done I should be at 20/40 vision. I'll take that. The hard part was the initial three weeks in the looking at the floor position. Today my cardiologist suggested that I monitor my blood pressure. Any suggestions on what monitoring unit is best?

I haven't corresponded with you, but I must help you celebrate getting your vision back! 20/40 is great vision!

I have no suggestions about a monitor, except that probably the old mercury devices are the best, but very hard to operate yourself. My father was a country doctor and have his old 1950's model, again, too hard to use. I use an Omron brand battery operated device and have it checked periodically at my doctor's office and it's always pretty accurate. I think I spent about $75 on it.

Any stories about the floor you want to share? After all that time, I bet you know the grain well!

That is soo cool.....I do not know any type of BP device that is better than another, but I DO know that you have to be sure to have your arm level with the table, and not bend your elbow for an accurate reading. Having good vision is such a beautilul blessing!

Glad to be back. I enjoy this forum and it's participants. Sue how are you? Enjoying our summer weather? Nwcoaster, this is the best time of the year up in the NW. I lived in Marysville WA for many years. August and September were the best months for me.
